Learn More About Quoting |
Note: Dividing a post into several quotes can only be done when the editor is in source mode! To set the editor in source mode go to your User Control Panel and click Your Profile/Edit Options in the menu to the left. Under "Other Options" there is a checkbox for "Put the editor in source mode by default". Check this checkbox. Dividing a post you want to quote into several quotes is easiest done by first clicking "Quote" as usual at the bottom right of the post you want to quote. Once you have the quote in the box for writing replies, use your cursor to mark the part of the quote you want to be quoted separately, and then click the tiny speech bubble symbol above the reply box. Repeat this for every part of the quote you want to quote. You can now insert your own comments. Make sure to insert them in between the end of quote command [ / quote ] and the beginning of quote command [ quote ] . (Note: no spaces within the commands. The spaces are included here in the help document for clarity only.) There's one more thing you have to do. Go and check for double quote commands at the beginning of the entire post you originally quoted and at the end. Remove one of the quote commands at the beginning and one at the end. There should never be two quote commands in a row. |
