Hello, I’ve been in an affair for seven years. We are both married. I want to leave my spouse but he will not leave his. He tells me he loves me more than anything, but will not disrupt his life to be with me. We are older and have grown children. I still hold on to the hope that we will be together one day.

Hi Chelsey,
Welcome, I’m sorry to hear you’re not on the same page. Are you willing to go on like this? Would you leave your spouse regardless of your MM (Married Man / partner)?

Same here Chelsey, and welcome. I am in a similar situation, and we both have grown kids.
Are you very much in love with your MM? Do you see one another often? Have you ever broken up and reconciled with him? How do you feel if what you would like does not come to pass, are you willing to stay in the relationship anyway?
No judgment from anyone here, we just try to support fellow affair folks, as these situations are always complicated and strong feelings intensify it.

Welcome, Chelsey, I imagine it's hard when you want different things. I wonder if you would make a decision on your marriage independently of what he chooses to do?
