No! Absolutely not. What might be mistaken for cheerleading is the recognition that many OP/AP are so deeply in love that at least for now it would be very difficult to end the extramarital relationship.
My opinion is that we should meet posters were they are at, support them with the choice they make. If they want out, we support them on their way out. If they want to stay in, we support them in getting off the roller coaster and stabilizing the extramarital relationship. If they don't know which path to choose, we support them while they try to figure that out.
There are no preset answers. Each individual needs to choose for themselves. If the pain is greater than the pleasure, it's likely time to end the relationship. As long as the pleasure is greater than the pain, the probability of the relationship ending is low. Each individual has to make their own judgment of their own situation.
My personal choice has been to stay in the extramarital relationship. I have been the OW for six years. I would prefer for my married man to get a divorce, but that decision is not up to me to make. The benefits of our relationship by far outweigh the negatives, so I stay.
I'm lucky to have such a great community to lean on. It's good to have people to talk to who understand because they too have been there.
